Wivenhoe Dam, Main Spillway – July 2007
A bleak sight compared to the thundering spillway pictured in the nearby Information Centre. Water destined for Brisbane’s consumption is released through a small hydroelectric plant in the base of the wall and joins the Brisbane River, to be extracted further downstream at Mt Crosby [see map].
