Reflections on Mary/MRT_(21).jpg |

| A likely habitat for Mary River Cod. The fish
was once found extensively in South East Queensland waterways, but habitat destruction has resulted in a serious population decline and they are now only found naturally in small parts of the Mary River. The species is totally protected, and it's sadly ironic that throughout the area threatened by Traveston Dam there are State Government signs about penalties for fishing the cod or causing destruction of it's natural habitat. |
