After the flotilla, paddlers and spectators flocked to the hall in the threatened town of Kandanga
to continue celebrating the success of the campaign. Dr Eve Fesl, elder of the Gubbi Gubbi people,
spoke of how her tribe has refused to take the 'bribe' offered by the State Government to sign over
their native land to innundation.
